Card of the Week --- Week 1 --- Rescue Cat
Seeing as how it was just released as a Super Rare.....
Now over the years, especially going to when it was first released, Rescue Cat was often overlooked due to the lack
of support and overall abuse that could be conducted with it's effect. Simply using it to Deck thin and maintain field prescence through
2 new monsters was pretty much the limit of this card's ability.
However, upon introduction of Synchros, Rescue Cat began to see more play. As a player wouldn't need to risk the monsters
going to the Graveyard for nothing but rather use those monsters for a Synchro Summon (X-Saber Airbellum being the popular choice for Synchros).
From then, people have began to use Rescue Cat alot more than times of old and it itself has become a very versatile card. Only played in a few
powerful Deck-Types, having the right support and set-up can often give the player a game winning advantage.
Currently, most of the Meta Decks of this format use Rescue Cat, the main culprit being X-Sabers. Rescue Cat itself is very abusable in X-Sabers for its raw ability to
easily search for a majority of X-Sabers and allow access to quick Synchro Summoning and the all important search engine in XX-Saber Darksoul.
Gladiator Beasts still run Rescue Cat as well, mainly for Test Tiger, as they generally need the Speed and ability to control the game.
Now, lets look at the Pros and Cons of Rescue Cat:
Pros-
Level 4 = Gives easy access to Summoner Monk, Normal Summonable, Special Summonable
Summons 2 Monsters from Deck = Allows for easy Synchro Summoning, Can Fuel Grave, Thins Deck
Searchable = Sangan, Summoner Monk and a few other cards like Giant Rat all search for Rescue Cat
Ignition Effect = Has priority, allows it to bypass cards like Torrential Tribute.
Cons-
Needs Support = Alone it's very poor
Summoned monsters susceptible to removal = Book of Moon, Bottomless Trap Hole are both heavily played this format
As you can see, it's Pros easily outweigh the Cons, thus making Rescue Cat a very good addition to any Deck
that can easily accomodate it.
Rating:
Advanced ---- 4/5
Hard to fault something so good.
It's only downside is that it needs to be in a Deck with targets for it.
Thus, not all Decks can support it.
Traditional ---- 2.5/5
It's a good card, but there are cards here that make it seem slow.
Although it can be useful, it would require a dedicated build.

caius wasnt rated higher than cat, card of the week means each weeks theres a new card, pretty much just to make the banner diferent for fun
and we dont know for sure that cat is going to be banned, there is no confirmed list, and if there is one that you know of please do share it with us

Re: Card of the Week --- Week 1 --- Rescue Cat
No, Cat was confirmed.
Well, for a deck to run Cat, it requires targets for it.
Caius, just needs Tribute fodder.
meaning its easier to splash Caius than splash Cat
