Re: Plant Drain
I heard Limit Reverse into Blossom is good plays.
Specially when you already brought out a Dandylion.
I'd neg a Wing Blast for it.

Torrential is good this format.
everything spams like nuts. Torry says fuck you. Wing Blast is -1ish and you don't want to top deck it
least torry can save you when you top it.

It had Thunder King, but decided to go for Cyber Dragon over it regardless of what Thunder King could do under Skill Drain.
I got a rule in deck building where if a deck runs searchers and whatnot like Tomato and Blue Rose, I wouldn't run Torrential Tribute.

Re: Plant Drain
Thats fair enough. I follow the rule of it's a staple.
Also, Thunder King isn't affect by drain. It's continuous

You mean the drawing part?
I read that the ruling of tributing to negate a special summon works under Skill Drain.

That effect resolves in the grave, is that right?

Re: Plant Drain
Tim's right.
With Skill Drain on the field, it's first effect is negated while it's face up on the field, but the second effect still works. You can still tribute Thunder King Rai-Oh but it's effect activates in the graveyard, so it resolves since it's no longer affected by Skill Drain.
Of course, with Light-Imprisoning Mirror it's reverse. It's first effect is continuous so both players can't add cards, but it's second effect is negated since it negates the activate of effects from the graveyard. I'm not sure if you can even tribute itself but I assume so.

Re: Plant Drain
i think ididnt get my point acroos clearly. what my point was if it says tribute and skill drains on the field. tributing is a cost so it works. it does have to be in graveyard to work

Re: Plant Drain
All of Thunder Kings Effects are Active on the field with Skill Drain,
No, that was wrong explaining from me,
It's more like:
Continuous effects are active with skill drain on the field, And you can still pay costs, so;
Thunder King's Continuous effect of neither player can add cards is still in effect.
and you can still tribute Thunder King for his cost,
So once you've payed the cost, He's in the grave, therefor uneffected by skill drain.
....At least I think o.O

Re: Plant Drain
Thunder King's first effect doesn't work. It's negated by Skill Drain as it is a continuous effect. There is no reason why continuous effects should work with Skill Drain on the field, otherwise there would be no point to Skill Drain.
Thunder King's second effect however works because it resolves when he is in the graveyard, affected by Skill Drain.

Re: Plant Drain
Tyson is correct.
Thunder King is continuous. It never activates, it's always there. Meaning, no cards can be
added from Deck to hand.
Although it sounds stupid, it's how this game is.
