Dark... er... Mimic... Lev - Wait, What?

I haven't posted anything on the forum for a while, and I'm not going to because the next 5K isn't until May 15th; my deck for that event is, as always, a secret, so I thought I would fill the void by posting my latest pro deck idea: Dark Mimic Control!

As a writer, I tend to stay away from slang, but the phrases "OMG" and "LOL" spring to mind. I first noticed the amazing synergy Dark Mimics have with Dark Armed Dragon when I was filling out a trade with Steve, and got an Ultimate Rare Dark Mimic LV3. I originally only got it because it was pretty, and of course I love my DARK cards, but then I actually read its effect and looked up LV1. Lo and behold! this deck was born. Not only do the Dark Mimics draw you lots of cards (i.e. drawing you towards Dark Armed Dragon), but through the Level mechanic they also load the Graveyard with DARK Monsters to fuel the Dragon's Summon. It's a flawless synergy.

As soon as I get around to acquiring a set of Dark Mimic LV1 and one more Ulti Dark Mimic LV3, I will actually test the deck and see if it works as will in practice as it does in theory. Here's hoping! because I'm so tempted to play this at Nats.

Nice idea, what about Card d, or hand D. i can image opening with 5 backrow like a gilion times and seems like it would work

there's probably only 1 problem with this...

other than Dark Armed Dragon, you have no other win condition... which can prove problematic if you lose Dark Armed.

you might want to consider running some tuners (Glow Up Bulb, Psychic Engine, Gale) to add additional ways of winning through Synchros.

otherwise, the deck looks like alot of fun

this seems like a fun deck and i am currently building a deck that has no proper win condition but should hope fully do well because of its amazing combos and i will post the deck after i play it on Friday provided the shop has the final missing cards i need. But i will defiantly keep and eye out for dark mimics and i will check the shop for you as well

Neo: Dark Armed back to thee would make the happietst person in the world. It's my favourite card to play, hence why I always make decks around it.

Hand Destruction and Card Destruction won't work. Firstly, what am I going to discard? I want everything in my hand, barring a random discard for PWWB. Secondly, those cards will be completely dead in the opening hand because, as you said, the most common opening move for this deck is, 'set monster, set five backrow'. I did want to include Morphing Jar, but i just can't find room.

Nick: that is true, but the idea here is exactlythe same as the P.A.C.M.A.N.-based build I sent you for Traditional: draw Dark Armed Dragon and Summon it as quickly as possible, then protect it at all costs. If the deck works properly (like the P.A.C.M.A.N. build does), you shouldn't need enything else.

You can always attack with the small Monsters as well: with so much Monster hate, the opponent will more often than not have a clear field.

Mikal: yeah, fun decks are fun! Don't discount the idea of a fun deck being competative this format, though; wit no clearly defined Tier list and the current 'top' decks being fraut with inconsistencies, the format is wide open. I look forward to seeing your latest idea.

Thanks for looking out for the cards: I need three LV1 (they're only common), and one more Ulti LV3.

At the moment i can see this getting killed by GK's , even though u have PWWB for anoyying recruiters and for necro valley but if u can draw PWWB or MST u can use Mask of D or most important DAD so u might need to side well against this matchup if u make this deck into a competitive deck
Also have u considered seven tools or my body as a shield cuz if they warning or even destroy Dad with descendant, JD, a monarch or G spark, Dragunity crap or even scrap dragon u stuffed. This may sound strange but u actually dont have enough protection for DAD in my eyes. u have wing blast which doesnt hurt any deck in the current meta cuz they can pretty much do the same thing tnext turn or even the same turn. If i was to run this deck these would be my changes. Not trying to affend just putting out my personal opinion.
